The Director of Operations will lead and oversee the operational aspects of our construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of ground-up and renovation projects, optimizing and managing project teams, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have proven success with project sizes of over $50M up to $200M+ experience with a strong background in construction operations, strategy, project management, and leadership.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Project Oversight: Oversee the successful execution of ground-up and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to project managers, site supervisors, and other operational staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize project efficiency and profitability.
Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure that construction projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring proactive problem-solving and timely decision-making.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction operations, with a focus on commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale. $50M+ construction projects on time and within budget.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in project management software and tools.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in construction, architecture, or engineering related major.
15+ years of experience providing project and program management services on large projects in excess of $100 million is required.
In-depth knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Review and be familiar with purchases/material orders and subcontracts after they are prepared by project manager or estimating
Work with the municipalities in determining the special conditions and requirements of the project, such as permits and other special items
With assistance from the Project Manager, establish a construction schedule (network logic of use in Project Schedule)
Develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule, assuring adequate information is available from the subcontractors and suppliers
Assist Project Manager in developing thorough scopes of work including critical delivery paths
Keep Project Manager informed of changing dates or requirements in the field relative to procurement dates
Review material schedule and procurement status at weekly job progress meeting
Assist Project Manager in resolving procurement issues
Work with owners, architects, and subcontractors on problems dealing with the project
Refer any items outside of your realm of responsibility or any problems which require additional staff support to the Project Manager
Coordinate all site activities in order to complete on time, within budget, and meet high quality expectations
